  • Fernando D. Martinez, MD, Director, Respiratory Sciences Center, University of Arizona

  • Carole Ober, PhD, Professor, Department of Human Genetics, University of Chicago.

    The symposium was moderated by Dr. Jeffrey M. Drazen, Editor-in-Chief, The New England Journal of Medicine, and Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School. The panelists discussed the implications for public health of our emerging ability to understand the interaction of genetic and environmental factors. Dr. Thomas addressed the issue broadly and Drs. Ober and Martinez elaborated on the specific application to asthma.
