Our laboratory focuses on two principle questions: (1) how M. tuberculosis uses specialized secretion systems and surface structures to mediate interactions with the infected host; (2) how does M. tuberculosis generate diversity (genetic or epigenetic) and what is the consequence of that diversity to infection. We approach these questions using high throughput proteomics and genetic approaches.
