Mr. Williams works as a research assistant for Theresa Betancourt at the FXB Center. Originally from Oregon, he received a Master's in Social Work from Boston College in 2006. In addition to his work with Dr. Betancourt, recent public health experiences include assisting with the activities of the Joint Learning Initiative on Children and AIDS, working as a mental health specialist at McLean Psychiatric Hospital, conducting a program evaluation of a pediatric HIV/AIDS after school program at Boston Medical Center, and serving as a co-investigator of a qualitative study of AIDS affected children and their caretakers in rural Uganda. Interests include applied research and programming catered to children affected by AIDS, particularly around mental health. Mr. Williams is currently enrolled in a one year Master's of Science program in the Department of Society and Human Development and Health.
