Research
My main research areas include appropriate use of prescription drugs, medication adherence and geographic variations in drug consumption (small area analysis). I am also interested in evaluating the impact of interventions to improve the quality and safety of the prescription of drugs as well as in the evaluation of interventions to reduce adverse drug reactions and drug reimbursement policies.
Other important areas of research include the promotion and the evaluation of the impact that educational outreach to healthcare providers (based on the most recent evidence available and also on information from evaluations in their own setting) has on patient management and health services use (ESOSVAL project).
