Zinzi Bailey

Zinzi Bailey, a doctoral student in the department of Society, Human Development, and Health, is from Jamaica and grew up in Miami. “Public health is essential,” she says, “because of its role looking at the underdogs—people who may not be able to stand up for themselves because of systems of power. I hope when I am done here I will have the capacity—the knowledge and skillsI need to provide a voice for vulnerable populations.” Learn more about Zinzi’s story in her own words in her “Why Public Health” video.
