Research
The goal of my research is to understand the effects of dietary essential fatty acids on cardiovascular health in populations where the availability of these fatty acids is limited such as Central America and Eastern Europe. I also investigate whether genetic variation can modulate the effect of essential fatty acids on metabolic parameters that promote atherosclerosis and increase the risk of cardiovascular disease.
