Student Reserve Corps Information for Public Health Agencies
The Student Reserve Corps (SRC) is a service group at the Harvard School of Public Health where graduate students participate in applied public health activities and assist local public health agencies. The Student Reserve Corps can help by supplying trained, student volunteers to work on public health events like flu clinics or foodborne outbreaks. To request help from the Student Reserve Corps, please send an email or call the Harvard School of Public Health Center for Public Health Preparedness (HSPH-HCPHP) with the following information:
- Background on the situation
- How much assistance you need
- When you need volunteers (please be specific and include dates and times)
- How long you will need assistance for
- What volunteers will be asked to do
- Specific skills you are looking for (e.g., language skills)
- Reimbursement, meals, and lodging provided, if any
- Other relevant details
Upon receiving your request for assistance, HSPH-HCPHP will contact you to confirm your request and clarify any additional details. Students will be matched according to their background, interests and your agency's needs , and you will receive an email or phone call from HSPH-CPHP with volunteers' names, contact information and availability. Volunteers will be provided with details of the activity and will arrive at the designated time and place.
Please note that the Student Reserve Corps will attempt to fulfill every appropriate request. However, because the SRC is a volunteer-based organization it may not be possible to find volunteers for every activity.
