Eligibility and Forms

The Health Communication Concentration (HCC) is open to all HSPH two-year master and doctoral students, subject to department approval. One-year master students may be considered for the concentration on a case-by-case basis. First consider whether you will be able to fit 10 credits of concentration coursework into your schedule and try filling out the Intent to Concentrate Declaration Form. Then email the HCC Coordinator with your draft form and any additional questions about joining the concentration.

Required Documentation

All documentation should be emailed to the HCC Coordinator.

  • Students do not need to apply to the concentration, but are encouraged to familiarize themselves with course requirements, introduce themselves to the coordinator via email, and ask any questions.
  • After meeting their course requirements, students should submit the Intent to Concentrate Form via email to the HCC coordinator.
  • Concentrators must submit their official transcript once they have completed their coursework. Official transcripts can be ordered via the HSPH registrar.

Dates and Deadlines

  • Friday, December 1, 2023: deadline for December graduates to submit their declaration form
  • Friday, May 3, 2024: deadline for May graduates to submit their declaration form
  • Friday, May 24, 2024. deadline to submit official transcript
  • June 2024: Once processed, a Letter of Recognition certifying your successful completion of the concentration requirements will be e-mailed to your HSPH email address.
