HSPH classes resume Mon., May 4. Call 432-NEWS (6397) for updates. Click for more info...

To the HSPH Community,

In consultation with the Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC), HSPH will resume normally scheduled activities effective Saturday, May 2. Regular HSPH classes will resume on Monday, May 4. We will continue to implement appropriate public health practices during this time.

BPHC has identified two probable H1N1 cases among Harvard Dental students, with another 7 students showing flu-like symptoms. FYI: Due to the involvement of Harvard dental and medical students in clinical activities, the following steps are being taken:

  • Harvard Dental Center will remain closed through Wednesday, May 6.
  • Harvard School of Dental Medicine classes are canceled through Wednesday, May 6.
  • Harvard Medical School student educational activities in the hospitals or other clinical settings are canceled through Wednesday, May 6.
  • Harvard Medical School on-campus student activities and all classes --- including HST classes held at MIT --  are canceled through Monday, May 4.

The decision to extend the cancellation of classes and other activities will be reevaluated early next week.

The differing dates and activities reflect BPHC recommendations and a current estimation of the risk to the members of the individual schools.

Should circumstances warrant, anticipated dates could change. Check the HSPH home page ( http://www.hsph.harvard.edu ), 432-NEWS (6397), and the Harvard home page ( http://www.harvard.edu ) for updates.
