Public housing residents, working closely with graduate students and staff from Harvard School of Public Health, have been trained to collect samples in resident's apartments before and after interventions are made. Dust samples are collected using Ionic Breeze air filtration devices and vacuums. Equipment is placed in the apartments to measure air exchange rates, temperature and humidity.

Environmental measurements being collected include:
Temperature
Humidity
Air Exchange Rates
Nitrogen dioxide
Allergens in dust
Pesticides
