Even for those of us who prefer instructor-led training the convenience of self-paced online training options is hard to beat when it comes to learning skills like Excel or best practices for managing up or planning a budget.  This session provide a comprehensive introduction to two stellar online learning tools available to Harvard employees free of charge:  Lynda.com and Harvard ManageMentor.  You will get an overview on how to get started in and navigate Lynda.com and Harvard ManageMentor as well as what type of learning each tool provides.

Harvard Longwood Campus Lunch and Learn: Networking for Social Connection,

Harvard Longwood Campus Manager/Supervisor Series

Beginning September 17 with 6 sessions, 9:00am-12:00pm, Countway Library, Ballard Rm.

The goal of this training is to assist both experienced and newly appointed managers and supervisors, to develop or fine tune their own knowledge and expertise within the management function. This program has been designed with the help of experienced managers at HMS, HSPH and HSDM. We hope that this course will be an opportunity to meet some new colleagues and to share best practices. The program will run for 6 consecutive weeks.  Each week we build on the concepts of the previous week and set achievable goals to review the following week.

Please note: Approval from your immediate supervisor and at least one direct report is required for this series.  Attendance at all 6 classes is strongly encouraged to receive the full benefit of the program.
