The Peace Institute Co-Sponsors Community Responsibility Summit
There will be a Community Responsibility Summit this Saturday, October 31, 2009 from 9am-3pm at the Jeremiah E. Burke High School.  From 9-10am there will be a presentation by Councilor Turner's office on homicide rates in Boston over the past 20 years.  See here for flyer.

Louis D. Brown Peace Institute's Annual Mothers' Walk for Peace
The Louis D. Brown Peace Institute's (LDBPI) 13th Annual Mothers' Walk for Peace will be held on Mother's Day, May 10, 2009.  The Mothers' Walk draws together hundreds of men, women, & children who make up the surviving families of homicide victims, as well as community supporters from throughout Massachusetts. The Mothers' Day Walk is LDBPI's signature event. Come out and walk to show your commitment to peace by raising any amount of pledges to help them reach their goal of $200,000! Read more here.

Louis D. Brown Peace Institute Hosts Homicide Support Service Providers Breakfast
On March 4, 2009, 8:30-11:30am, the Louis D. Brown Peace Institute will be hosting a "Homicide Support Service Providers Breakfast."  At the meeting, they will be sharing the results of a qualitative study "Healing Through Helping: Tool Kits for Survivors and Providers" as well as reviewing crisis response protocol.  For more information, please view the flyer.

Black History Month Kickoff
Join HYVPC February 7 at the Vine Street Community Health Center in Roxbury from 12-4 to celebrate Black History Month. See the flyer for more information. A significant portion of the day will be dedicated to youth, so please invite youth to volunteer and participate.
