The HSPH Department of Information Technology welcomes new hire Ian Tosh. Ian will work as manager of a newly reorganized and renamed team called Media and Educational Technology Services (METS). METS includes Sarah Bearse, Christopher Riley, Mike Demarco, and Erin Provensal and will provide technical oversight of HSPH’s audio-visual infrastructure, student computer classrooms, iSites and Harvard learning management ecosystem (LME), HarvardX, and studio productions.
Ian joins us after 13 years at Rule Broadcast Systems where he was most recently employed as Director of System Integration. At Rule, Ian was the project manager for more than 200 audio-visual projects in academia (Harvard, Boston College, Babson), government (City of Boston, US Navy), and corporate settings (Hill Holliday, Procter & Gamble). He was promoted several times during his tenure at Rule.
In 2010-11, Ian collaborated with Sarah Bearse and Jon Barkan of Communications for Learning, in designing and installing the HSPH Leadership Studio, one of the most state-of-the-art rooms at Harvard University. More recently, Ian and Sarah designed the HSPH distance learning studio in Kresge LL19-h. Ian has also worked on a number of Decision-Making: Voices from the Field and Forum at HSPH production teams.
Ian has outstanding training skills, and he will offer training sessions for technical and non-technical users on the latest and greatest in audio-visual equipment.
Ian is a graduate of Emerson College, where he earned a bachelor of arts degree in communications with a focus on film production.
