Outlook Email Issue

UPDATE: All systems are fully operational.

–UPDATE 9/18/2013-

Yesterday morning the University managed email system (ICEMAIL) experienced delivery problems between Harvard and the outside world.

HUIT has confirmed that messages coming in between 7:00 AM – 8:45 AM yesterday morning from outside Harvard bounced back to senders as undelivered.

During this same time period yesterday, any messages sent from Harvard to the outside world went into a queue, and were later delivered once the problem was resolved in Cambridge. Email within Harvard was not affected by this problem.

All mail delivery was back to normal by 11:00 AM.

As of 7:10 am, the Outlook/Icemail system is not functioning properly for external incoming and outgoing mail.  Internal mail is fully operational.

Harvard University Information Technology (HUIT) is actively working on the issue.
