This Thursday night, June 13, 2013, we will be performing our monthly system maintenance to all servers.

The maintenance window will last from 7PM to 1AM.

The following services will have one or two small outages:

• Novell file and print services
• NetStorage
• ICF file and print services
• Powerfaids and NetPartner
• Accellion
• HSPH Unix server
• ALICE
• MyHSPH Portal

You can continue to work, but may have brief pauses while services restart.

The following services will be unaffected during the maintenance window:

• HSPH Website (main www.hsph.harvard.edu site)
• HUIT Icemail (Outlook) system, http://icemail.harvard.edu
• GMAIL, http://start.mail.harvard.edu
• iSites LMS, http://isites.harvard.edu
• HPCC system

Shattuck House currently has no network access.

Comcast, the network service provider for Shattuck House, has determined that their fiber optic line servicing this building has been inadvertently cut by a road crew.

More updates to follow as we receive further information and an ETA for resolution.

This maintenance window will be used to perform our next set of upgrades to various components of our SIS.  Our continued upgrades allow us to keep features, functionality and security up to date.  The following systems will be affected:

• MyHSPH portal
• ALICE Self Service for Students and Faculty
• Internet Native Banner (Administrative users)

You will still be able to access unaffected services such as email, course iSites, the HSPH Events calendar, NetStorage and more by visiting the current portal address:

https://my.sph.harvard.edu

If we are able to complete the work sooner than anticipated, we will notify all users when the systems are again available.

We appreciate your patience during this very important upgrade process.

The Department of Information Technology will be performing important infrastructure maintenance work that will take place Wednesday, May 8th, on the ALICE and MyHSPH Student Information Systems (SIS). This work is part of our migration project to newly purchased back-end storage systems.

The work is scheduled for Wednesday, May 8th, from 9:30pm – 11:30pm. The following systems will be affected:

• MyHSPH Portal
• ALICE Self Service for Students and Faculty
• Internet-native Banner (Administrative users)

In an effort to minimize impact to your user community, we will maintain a landing page at the school’s portal address of https://my.sph.harvard.edu which will respond and will provide direct links to services such as Email, Netstorage for access to network files, and iSites for coursework, among others.
