Maaz Shaikh, MD, MPH is a physician and management professional from India. He completed his Master of Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and currently works in the Department of Health Policy and Management as a Research Associate and Project Manager for the Gates-funded BetterBirth WHO Safe Childbirth Checklist trial. Prior to joining HSPH, Dr Shaikh was part of the management team at Piramal eSwasthya, a social enterprise in India that provides primary care services in villages without healthcare access using innovative technology. As Manager- Health Systems, Dr Shaikh worked at the confluence of public health, technology and business, designing novel services delivery models for rural settings.  Dr. Shaikh worked with the Project Antares team at Harvard Business School and HSPH to develop a healthcare delivery model for a major microfinance organization in Mexico. He was the recipient of the J.R.D. Tata Scholarships and the Scholars Abroad Program of the American Alumni Association at the Indo – U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Shaikh’s main areas of interest are maternal and child health, disease surveillance, technology and entrepreneurship in healthcare.
