Brief Biography

Mark A. Bloomberg, MD, MBA, FACPE                                                             

Mark Bloomberg is President of The Bloomberg Healthcare Group, a consulting practice dedicated to the education of medical students, residents, practicing physicians and physician executives.  His expertise is in the improvement of health care quality and the application of information technology to health care settings.  Most of his time is now dedicated to his role as Chief Medical Officer of WiFiMed, Inc., a start-up company that  has developed the first totally portable EHR, built on and for a tablet-PC platform.  Mark was previously the Chief Medical Officer of Private Healthcare Systems, a national PPO, and before that, the Corporate Medical Director of Tufts Health Plans.  It was during that period of his career that he became an NCQA physician surveyor (1991) and served on the Review Oversight Committee from 1995-2001. 

Mark did his clinical training at Rutgers Medical School and St. Elizabeth’s Hospital of Boston, followed by 12 years of solo Internal Medicine practice.  Mark later received an MBA from Northeastern University, and is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Medical Management.  Mark is on the faculty of both the Tufts University School of Medicine and the Harvard School of Public Health and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American College of Physician Executives.
