Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention
The mission of the Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention is to provide health and human services to the people of Maine so that all persons may achieve and maintain their optimal level of health and their full potential for economic independence and personal development. Within available funds, the department shall provide supportive, preventive, protective, public health and intervention services to children, families and adults, including the elderly and adults with disabilities. The department shall endeavor to assist individuals in meeting their needs and families in providing for the developmental, health and safety needs of their children, while respecting the rights and preferences of the individual or family.
Children's Hospital Boston
- MCHB funded training program in Behavioral Pediatrics under the direction of Dr. Leonard Rappaport.
- The Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program under the direction of Dr. Allen Crocker.
- The Division of Adolescent Medicine, under the leadership of Dr. Jean Emans.
- The Division of Newborn Medicine has an active training program in neonatal epidemiology and health policy.
Simmons College - Dual-Degree Programs
Simmons College and the Harvard School of Public Health offer two two-year, full-time, dual-degree options of either a Master of Science in Primary Health Care Nursing from Simmons College and a Master of Science in Society, Human Development, and Health from the Harvard School of Public Health, or a Master of Science in Social Work from Simmons College and a Master of Science in Society, Human Development, and Health from the Harvard School of Public Health.
