While some courses include lectures and problem solving exercises, most of the courses are case-based. The case method presents actual management situations familiar to health care leaders; participants must analyze the situation and recommend a course of action.
Participants complete a practical field project during the second academic year. This involves selecting a project involving organizational change, and applying skills and concepts learned in the program to implement the change. Implementation of the project is monitored through periodic progress reports to faculty and classmates who provide consultation and feedback.
Home and small group assignments using email and the Internet, maximize the flexibility and enhance the value that students derive from the program.
