HSPH’s Laurie Glimcher honored at day-long symposium

Researchers from across the globe joined HSPH faculty, students, staff and guests to honor Prof. Laurie Glimcher at a day-long symposium April 15, 2011, at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center at Harvard Medical School (HMS). The symposium, “A Commitment to Lineage: A Symposium in Celebration of Laurie Glimcher,”  drew alumni and former trainees to mark Glimcher’s 30 years of contributions to science. Glimcher is the Irene Heinz Given Professor of Immunology at HSPH and Professor of Medicine at HMS.

“This has been a really marvelous celebration of a career that is almost unparalleled,” said William Paul of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. He described Glimcher as the one of the most “dynamic, thoughtful, intelligent and accomplished leaders” in her field.
