Meredith Rosenthal to lead Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative

Meredith Rosenthal, C. Boyden Gray Professor of Health Economics and Policy at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, has been tapped to be the next director of the Harvard Advanced Leadership Initiative (ALI) beginning in 2019.

ALI prepares successful business leaders to translate their skills to public service through a year-long fellowship. Nearly 300 people have participated in the program since its founding in 2008, and many have gone on to work on economic, education, and health issues at the national and global level, according to a November 20, 2018 Harvard Crimson article. Rosenthal was previously a co-chair of ALI.

Barry Bloom, Joan L. and Julius H. Jacobson Research Professor of Public Health and a founding board member of ALI, lauded Rosenthal as a researcher and said she possesses the “gift of empathy.”
