Jeffrey Sánchez starts as Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow

Former eight-term Massachusetts state representative Jeffrey Sánchez joined Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health on January 28, 2019 as a Menschel Senior Leadership Fellow. During the seven-week appointment, he will teach a not-for-credit workshop series called “Leading and Enacting Change,” and be a featured speaker on the School’s original webcast series, Voices in Leadership.

Sánchez most recently was chairman of the House Committee on Ways and Means, and previously headed the Joint Committee on Health Care Financing and the Joint Committee on Public Health.

He told the Boston Globe that he will take a “practical approach” to teaching. “I’ve got 20 years of health care policy and organizational experience,” he said in a January 25, 2019 article. “I feel like I can spend time and help people figure out what they want to do while I’m doing my new life, as John Q. Citizen.”
