Op-ed: Global HIV response needs youth leadership

Transformative progress in global HIV prevention will require the involvement of youth at all levels of policy-making, according to a new op-ed co-authored by Maureen Luba Milambe, a visiting scientist and Jane Jie Sun LEAD Fellow at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

The op-ed was published December 1, 2019 in Global Health NOW.

Milambe, who also is the Africa region advocacy advisor for the AIDS Vaccine Advocacy Coalition, calls for more avenues for youth to express themselves in policy discussions, opportunities for youth to train as community health care workers, and efforts to integrate HIV prevention with family planning and other services.
