HSPH’s Christopher Golden named ‘Emerging Explorer’

Christopher Golden, research associate in the Department of Environmental Health at Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and recently appointed director of the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Health & Ecosystems: Analysis of Linkages (HEAL), has been named an Emerging Explorer by National Geographic magazine.

Golden has devoted his career as an ecologist and epidemiologist to studying the effects of global environmental trends on human health. In the magazine bio, Golden describes how a love of animals and nature developed at a young age fostered a career that has taken him on many adventures. “I think that connecting with natural environments is so important. I do my best thinking, innovation, and creation while lost in the woods,” Golden told National Geographic.
