HSPH’s Nancy Turnbull, senior lecturer on health policy and associate dean for educational programs, is quoted in a Boston Globe article about how the Massachusetts health care reform law has not reduced the use expensive emergency room visits for ailments such as the flu and sprains, as some had hoped. She does not believe the health care reform law has anything to do with the growth in emergency visits.
Turnbull is on the board of a number of state health policy organizations, including the Massachusetts Health Policy Forum, Commonwealth Care Alliance, and the Massachusetts Health Council.
