David Williams honored for distinguished contributions in public health

November 8, 2013 — David R. Williams, Florence Sprague Norman and Laura Smart Norman Professor of Public Health at Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH), was awarded the 2013 Stephen Smith Award for Distinguished Contributions in Public Health from The New York Academy of Medicine (NYAM) at its 166th Anniversary Discourse and Awards on November 7, 2013.

Williams was honored for his research on the complex ways in which race, racial discrimination, socioeconomic status, and religious involvement can affect physical and mental health.
