HSPH heroes honored

Four Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) staff members were among the 64 “Harvard Heroes” honored by the University at a June 12, 2014 ceremony. This annual ceremony recognizes employees who have been nominated by their peers for exceptional expertise, leadership, and dedication.

Heroes from HSPH are: Karen Brown, office manager, Office for Student Services; David Havelick, program manager, Department of Epidemiology; Debbie Mattina, assistant director of Faculty Affairs; and Bethany Maylone, department coordinator, Health Policy and Management.

Havelick told the Harvard Gazette, “Sometimes we get lost in our day-to-day work lives and forget that we’re doing something important and meaningful. The Harvard Heroes celebration helped to remind me that we’re a pretty impressive team of staff here at Harvard!”
