Global health news: HSPH alum on the challenges of leading Afghanistan’s public health efforts
Dr. Suraya Dalil, who graduated from HSPH with a masters in health care management in 2005, serves as Acting Minister of Public Health in Afghanistan. Dalil, who attended medical school in Afghanistan in the late 1980s, returned to her native country after leaving HSPH to help rebuild the country’s war-torn health system. She talked with NPR about the challenges she faces and her mission to improve the health of women and children.
