Wanted: Innovative ideas for a better food system

What are the best ways to produce sustainable, nutritious food? To innovate in food distribution and markets? To improve our diets? To reduce food waste?

These are the questions being posed to students this school year as part of the Deans’ Food System Challenge, one of a series of Deans’ Challenges organized by the Harvard Innovation Lab (i-Lab). The Food System Challenge invites creative and entrepreneurial students to develop innovative ideas to improve the health, social, and environmental outcomes of the food system, both in the United States and around the world.

The challenge is co-sponsored by HSPH Dean Julio Frenk and Harvard Law School Dean Martha Minow.
