The theme of this year's conference is 50 Years of Success: Shared Strategies for Moving Forward.

Fifty Years and Forward

Former directors in 1999.Former Harvard-NIEHS Center Directors: James Whittenberger, John Little and Joseph Brain in 1999

This year, the Harvard School of Public Health celebrates the 50th-year anniversary of the founding of the NIEHS Center for Environmental Health in 1962.

On Tuesday afternoon we will hold a symposium and banquet celebrating these fifty years of the NIEHS Centers' progress. The symposium will include a lecture dedicated to Harvard's NIEHS Center founding Director Dr. James Whittenberger. Whittenberger's vision helped to bring about meaningful progress in environmental disease research. As we look to the future of our centers, we must again combine hard work and forward thinking to build on the legacy Whittenberger has left with us.
