Overview

The long-term objectives of the Harvard NIEHS Center's Community Outreach and Education Program (COEP) are to integrate and implement the outreach-related goals and mission of the Harvard NIEHS Center for Environmental Health with those of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. The goals of the program are to:

  • Develop and sustain cooperation and planning for outreach and education across the three research cores and with the facilities cores as appropriate;
  • Develop and sustain active collaborations with external institutions, schools, and community organizations;
  • Raise public awareness, build curriculum, and address community environmental health concerns;
  • Provide both basic and intense learning experiences for youth; and
  • Continue to bring state-of-the art environmental health information and emerging issues to the professional community by providing continuing education courses and by encouraging researchers to be active participants in their professional associations.
