HSPH Accreditation


HSPH is scheduled for a reaccreditation site visit from September 21-23, 2009. 

The accrediting organization, the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), is accepting written third-party comments regarding the School up to 30 days prior to the on-site visit.

Emmons Elected as Next President of Behavioral Society


Karen Emmons, deputy director of the Center for Community-Based Research at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, and professor of society, human development, and health at HSPH, was made President-Elect of the Society of Behavioral Medicine at its annual meeting in Montreal.  

The Society of Behavioral Medicine is a multidisciplinary organization of more than 2,000 behavioral and biomedical researchers and clinicians, dedicated to promoting the study of the interactions of behavior with biology and the environment, and the application of that knowledge to improve health and well-being.        

Emmons' term as president will begin in April 2010.


Professor David Bloom Meets with Rep. Markey


HSPH Professor David Bloom met recently with Massachusetts Congressman Ed Markey to discuss the need for increased investment in global health research. Bloom is a member of a group of 25 ambassadors in Research!America's Paul G. Rogers Society for Global Health Research.


Child Care Scholarship Information Sessions Soon


Information about Harvard's child care scholarships will be available at two sessions on Wednesday, June 24, 3 - 4 p.m., Kresge 110, and Tuesday, August 4, 12 - 1 p.m., Kresge 110. RSVP online.
