Sodroski and Glimcher Receive Awards

The 2006 M. Jeang Retrovirology Prize for HIV research has been awarded to Joseph Sodroski, HMS professor of pathology and professor in the HSPH Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases. The award is supported by the Ming K. Jeang Foundation.

Program to Be Held on Reaching the Uninsured

HSPH will host "Public Private Partnerships - Strategies for Reaching the Uninsured" on Friday, October 20, 8:30 am - 1:00 pm, Snyder Auditorium. Surveys indicate that 47 million Americans currently lack health insurance and a majority of them live below the poverty level or are working poor. This symposium is focused on public-private partnerships to cover the uninsured and close the gap, and will bring together state and national experts with a wide range of viewpoints to review the current status and offer opinions on future directions. The program is co-sponsored by the Division of Public Health Practice, HSPH Department of Health Policy and Management, and MassCONECT (Massachusetts Community Networks to Eliminate Cancer Disparities through Education, Research and Training). The program is made possible through an unrestricted educational grant from Astra Zeneca. Admission is free of charge. RSVP after Sept. 29. For more information visit the website or call 617-384-8542.
