HSPH Graduate Reappointed as Health Commissioner

Michael Caldwell

HSPH alumnus Michael Caldwell, MPH 94, has been reappointed as the Dutchess County Commissioner of Health in New York for his third consecutive six-year term. He has served as the Commissioner of the Dutchess County Department of Health since 1994.

Caldwell oversees the health of nearly 300,000 people in the county. He was one of the youngest physicians ever to be appointed a health commissioner in the United States, and was also the youngest president of the National Association of County & City Health Officials (NACCHO).

Allston Exhibit Room Updated to Reflect Submitted Plan

The Allston Exhibit Room on the Ground Floor of the Holyoke Center in Cambridge has been updated to reflect the proposed Institutional Master Plan submitted recently to the City of Boston. The exhibit explains the concepts and plans for development in Allston and is open to the public. Hours are Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The proposed plan describes the first stage of the physical evolution of an interdisciplinary campus in Allston, including new areas for science, professional schools, the arts, and housing, as well as new open spaces and amenities for the community.
