Cash Named Ambassador for Global Health Research by Research!America
Richard Cash, a pioneer in oral rehydration therapy and an expert in ethical issues in international health research, has been named an Ambassador in Research!America's Paul G. Rogers Society for Global Health Research. Cash, a faculty member in the Department of Population and International Health, is now one of 50 of the nation's foremost global health experts who have joined forces to increase awareness about the critical need for greater U.S. public and private investment in research to improve global health.

the new dean of Harvard's Faculty of Medicine on September 1, President Drew Faust announced on July 11.
Spengler Wins Award

John Spengler
John Spengler, Akira Yamaguchi Professor of Environmental Health and Human Habitation at HSPH, received the Lyman A. Ripperton Environmental Educator Award for inspiring students to achieve excellence in their professional endeavors. The award, announced on July 11, was given by The Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA). Established by the association to recognize environmental professionals who serve as models for others to emulate, the A&WMA's Honors & Awards Program acknowledges individuals and organizations for outstanding accomplishments in promoting a cleaner environment.
