James Whittenberger, who passed away on March 17, 2007, was honored on September 28 at a symposium on environmental genetics and epigenetics in Snyder Auditorium. Members of the Whittenberger family were in attendance. Whittenberger chaired the Department of Physiology at HSPH for 32 years from 1948 to 1980.
