Glimcher Delivered Mellon Lecture in Pittsburgh

Laurie Glimcher, Irene Heinz Given Professor of Immunology, delivered the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine's 86th Mellon Lecture on October 12.

She spoke on, "Lineage Commitment in the Immune System."

The Mellon Lecture was established in 1915. The lectureship is an opportunity for eminent investigators and scholars to lecture at the University of Pittsburgh on the science of medicine.

Manson Received Award for Research into Estrogen

JoAnn Manson, Elizabeth Fay Brigham Professor of Women's Health at HMS and professor in the Department of Epidemiology at HSPH, was the recipient of the North American Menopause Society's (NAMS) Postmenopausal Cardiovascular Health Research Award in 2007.

Manson was honored for her research elucidating the relationship between estrogen and coronary disease. She received the award at the NAMS annual scientific sessions in October in Dallas.
