Award Presented at John B. Little Symposium

For a decade, the John B. Little Center for Radiation Sciences and Environmental Health at the Harvard School of Public Health has convened experts in cancer cell biology and radiation sciences for a special symposium. The event and the Center are named after John Little, who is the James Stevens Simmons Professor of Radiobiology, Emeritus, in the Department of Genetics and Complex Diseases.

This year's event was held on November 2 and 3 in Snyder Auditorium. The theme was Cancer Stem Cells, Radiotherapy, and Modulation by Cellular Responses.

On Friday, the John B. Little Award was given to Allan Balmain of the Cancer Research Institute at the University of Callifornia, San Francisco. Balmain delivered a special lecture on, "Genetic Networks and Control of Cancer Susceptibility."
