Donate Funds to Purchase Books for Local Schools and Libraries

Harvard students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to donate funds to the John Harvard Book Project. The donations will be used to provide new books selected by teachers and librarians for elementary and middle schools in Cambridge and Boston and for the children's room of the Honan Library in Allston. In February, college students will deliver the books.

 

HSPH Students Invited to Participate in Photo Contest about School's Mission

Student Affairs is sponsoring a photo contest for current HSPH full- and part-time students. Up to three submissions per student will be accepted. Brief descriptions in Microsoft Word documents must accompany each photo. The photos must contain content relevant to the School's mission, and photographs from previous service trips or a previous period of service work/research are eligible. To learn more, see Amy Wooldridge in Student Affairs, Kresge G-20, or e-mail awooldri@hsph.harvard.edu. The deadline is February 19.

Faculty Appointments

James Mitchell has been appointed assistant professor of genetics and complex diseases in the Department of Genetics and Complex Diseases.

Alan Agresti has been appointed visiting professor of biostatistics in the Department of Biostatistics.

Sara Singer has been appointed assistant professor of health care management and policy in the Department of Health Policy and Management.
