HSPH Student-Organized AIDS Quilt Unveiled

Two student groups at HSPH - Africa Health Forum and AIDS Tank Africa - spearheaded the creation of an HSPH Community AIDS Quilt to mark this year's World AIDS Day

The quilt was unveiled on December 3, 2007, during a special reception and now hangs permanently in the Kresge atrium. Also involved in the creation of the quilt were the Harvard Center for Population and Development Studies and the Departments of Population and International Health and Society, Human Development, and Health. The unveiling was only one event among many efforts undertaken at the School to mark World AIDS Day. Numerous student groups mounted displays in the Kresge cafeteria on how the subject of HIV/AIDS relates to their interests or to the theme of their student group. Multiple lectures were held, as were screenings of films with AIDS themes.
