International Volunteerism Fair

HSPH will serve as a location for a Global Volunteering Fair tomorrow, Saturday, April 12, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in the Kresge cafeteria. Attendance is free of charge. The event will provide the opportunity to meet with nonprofit organizations that coordinate volunteer projects around the globe, including American Jewish World Service, Earthwatch Institute, Peace Corps New England Region, and WorldTeach.

There also will be free workshops on topics such as "determining whether to go abroad with a program or on your own" and "volunteering globally as a family."

Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day

Every spring, Human Resources hosts "Take Our Daughters and Sons to Work Day."  This is a nationally recognized event that introduces children to diverse career opportunities. This year's event will take place on Thursday, April 24 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kresge cafeteria. Girls and boys between the ages of 8 and 12 years may participate. Activities are planned throughout the day, including presentations from HSPH staff members, tours, a luncheon, and hands-on activities.

Medical Plan Providers to Be Consolidated

Harvard has announced that it will consolidate health plan administrators beginning July 1. Tufts and Blue Cross Blue Shield will be discontinued. Harvard Pilgrim Health Care and HUGHP will continue.
