Share and Email Functions Added to Web Pages

Information Technology has launched a new "Share / Email this page" feature on all HSPH Publisher-based web sites. Two new icons tagged "Share" and "Email" now appear at the top right corner of certain web pages. The feature is only available for web sites that reside in the HSPH Publisher.

By clicking the "Share" option, users will be presented with a list of six of the most popular social bookmarking sites where they can share stories with a community of users.

The "Email" option allows users to email a friend with the url of that specific web page.

The links are being provided as a convenience to users. Many of these features are commonplace on large news sites such as Boston.com and NYTimes.com.

IT notes that the social bookmarking sites are not managed by HSPH. The sites may require the creation of an account to use their features. IT encourages users to be sure they check the terms of use and privacy policies of these sites to understand their practices.
