HSPH One of Seven Schools to Receive CDC Funding for Preparedness

HSPH is one of seven schools of public health that have received funding from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the establishment of Preparedness and Emergency Response Research Centers (PERRCs). The seven schools will conduct research that will evaluate the structure, capabilities, and performance of public health systems for preparedness and emergency response activities.

HSPH has received more than $1.7 million to generate criteria and metrics to measure effectiveness and efficiency of preparedness efforts.

The effort is related to the establishment of Centers of Public Health Preparedness.  Such a center was founded at HSPH in 2002 and is housed within the Division of Public Health Practice.
