Exams and Defenses

Yannis Jemiai, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, HSPH and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, will present his thesis, "Semiparametric Methods for Inferring Treatment Effects on Outcomes Defined Only if a Post-Randomization Event Occurs," on Monday, April 4 at 10:30 a.m. in SPHII-426.

Stacia DeSantis, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, HSPH and Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, will take her oral exam on Monday, April 4 at 12:30 p.m. in FXB G-10. Major: biostatistics and infectious disease and HIV epidemiology. Rebecca Betensky will chair the examination committee.

Karen Hopcia, doctoral student in the Department of Environmental Health, will take her oral examination on Tuesday, April 5 at 2:00 p.m. in SPHI-1301. Major: occupational health policy; minors: decision science and occupational safety and injury prevention. Karen Kuntz will chair the examination committee.

Swapnil Rajpathak, doctoral student in the Departments of Nutrition and Epidemiology, will present his thesis, "The Role of Chromium, Calcium, and Iron in Chronic Disease," on Tuesday, April 12 at 5:00 p.m. in the Department of Nutrition Conference Room.

Susan Koch-Weser, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development and Health, will present her thesis, "Health Literacy, Word-Use, and Doctor Patient Talk," on Wednesday, April 13 at 1:30 p.m. in Kresge 708.

Elizabeth Reed, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will take her oral exam on Thursday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Kresge 606. Major: social epidemiology; minors: gender, violence, and reproductive health and health disparities. Beth Molnar will chair the examination committee.
