‘Celebration

More than 60
HSPH staff members were recognized for their years of service at the school
during the annual Staff Appreciation Day on April 9 in the Kresge cafeteria.
Staff who marked their 5, 10, 15, 20, and 30-year anniversaries of working
at the school between July 1, 2002 and June 30, 2003 were acknowledged for
their contributions.
Receiving special
recognition was Alvin Wing, senior programmer analyst in the Department
of Nutrition, who has worked at the school for nearly 35 years. I-Min
Lee, associate professor in the Department of Epidemiology, offered a
warm and humorous review of Wing’s career at HSPH. Wing began as
a statistical clerk for the College Alumni Health Study, which was initially
within the infrastructure of the Framingham Heart Study of the National
Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute. In 1968, the College Alumni Health Study
transferred to HSPH, as did Wing’s career.
The event was
coordinated by the Schoolwide Events Committee.
