Poster Day Winners Announced

More than 60 posters were presented at the annual HSPH Poster and Exhibit Day on Thursday, March 11 in the Kresge cafeteria. This year, there was a competition for two $500 awards–one for best poster or exhibit by a student, or by a team on which a student was the first author and presenter, and one for best poster or exhibit by a postdoctoral fellow, or by a team on which a postdoctoral fellow was the first author and presenter. The posters were judged by the Faculty Council.

The student winner was Jessica Su in the Department of Epidemiology for her poster, "A Genome-Wide Scan of the Age at Onset of Mania Yields Three Potential Susceptibility Loci."

There was a tie for the postdoctoral fellow poster contest. Matthias Schulze won for "Consumption of Sugar-Sweetened Soft Drinks is Related to Greater Weight Gain and Increased Risk of Type 2 Diabetes in Women." Iris Shai won for "A Multivariate Assessment of Lipid Parameters as Predictors of Coronary Heart Disease among Women–Potential Implications for Clinical Guidelines." Both fellows are in the Departments of Nutrition and Epidemiology.
