Exams and Defenses

Ping Kathryn Ruan, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, will take her oral exam on Monday, December 13 at 10:00 a.m. in SPHII-426. Major: biostatistics; minors: cognate requirement and cancer. Yi Li will chair the examination committee.

David Michael Loecke, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, will present his thesis, "Mixed Effects Mean Score Method, Optimal Design for Two-Stage Longitudinal Studies in a GEE Framework, and Addition of Covariates to a Markov Model Approach for Characterizing Progression of HIV Genetic Mutations," on Tuesday, December 14 at 9:00 a.m. in SPHII-426.

Jennifer Pai, doctoral student in the Department of Epidemiology, will present her thesis, "Inflammatory Markers, Their Determinants and Risk of Coronary Heart Disease," on Tuesday, December 14 at 10:00 a.m. in Kresge 908.

Toben Nelson, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will take his oral exam on Tuesday, December 14 at 1:30 p.m. in Kresge 708. Major: health and social behavior; minors: research methods and quantitative methods. Henry Wechsler will chair the examination committee.

Bin Zhang, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, will present his thesis, "Statistical Methods with Unrecognized Heterogeneity in Survival Data Identify Family Relationships in Genetic Studies and Response Related Incomplete Data," on Tuesday, December 21 at 3:45 p.m. in SPH II-426.
