Office Hours for President Summers and Provost Hyman Harvard University President Lawrence Summers and Provost Steven Hyman will hold office hours in their Massachusetts Hall offices for all Harvard undergraduate and graduate students from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. (unless otherwise noted) on the following dates. Individuals wishing to meet with President Summers or Provost Hyman are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis. An Harvard ID is required. President Summers: Monday, Dec. 16 Provost Hyman: Tuesday, January 28 **On March 18, extended office hours (4 to 5:30 p.m.) will also be open to university employees. Fellowships in Nonprofit Sector Studies Available The Hauser Center for Nonprofit Organizations invites graduate students currently enrolled in an Harvard University PhD program to apply for 2003-2005 Doctoral Fellowships in Nonprofit Sector Studies. The Center will award up to five, two-year residential fellowships to doctoral/advanced degree candidates engaged in major research or writing a dissertation on a nonprofit NGO/civil society topic. Applications and all supporting documents are due by Friday, January 31, 2003. The names of the recipients of fellowships will be announced in early April. JoAnn Manson Wins Award JoAnn Manson, a professor in the Department of Epidemiology at HSPH and professor at HMS, received the Henry Ingersoll Bowditch Award for Excellence in Public Health from the Massachusetts Medical Society during a meeting of the organizations governing body in Waltham on November 8. In presenting the award, Charles Welch, president of the Massachusetts Medical Society, acknowledged Manson for "her enormous contributions to our understanding of womens health issues and advancements in clinical care. As the principal investigator of studies exploring the effect of diet, exercise, hormone replacement and vitamin therapy, Dr. Manson has created vast insights regarding prophylactic measures and advanced treatment regimens." The Massachusetts Medical Society owns and publishes The New England Journal of Medicine.
