Assistant Surgeon General to Speak at HSPH

Susan Blumenthal, U.S. Assistant Surgeon General and Rear Admiral, will speak on "Obesity: Applying a Public Health Approach to Prevention" at 12:30 p.m. in FXB G-13 on March 8. She is also Former Deputy Assistant Secretary for Women's Health, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The event is sponsored by the Department of Nutrition and the Office of the Dean.

Africa’s Health Challenges to Be Topic of Murray Talk

Christopher Murray, Richard B. Saltonstall Professor and a member of the Department of Population and International Health, will speak at "Africa’s Health Challenges" on Tuesday, February 24 from 3:45 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. in Snyder Auditorium. The event has been organized by the student group Africa Health Forum.

Documentary Captures Story of Health Disparities

A group of HSPH students are presenting a screening of the video documentary "The Angry Heart: The Impact of Racism on Heart Disease Among African Americans" on Thursday, February 26 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Kresge G-2. The event is in honor of Black History Month.

"The Angry Heart" documents the story of Keith Hartgrove, an African-American resident of Roxbury, MA who suffered two massive heart attacks before the age of 45.

Career Fair to Offer Networking Opportunities

The Career Services Office is organizing a Career Fair from March 1 to 4 in the Kresge cafeteria from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Representatives of more than 35 organizations will attend to describe employment opportunities.
