Exams and Defenses

Jerry Tsai, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, will take his oral examination on Friday, January 7 at 9:00 a.m. in the 2nd Floor Conference Room at 718 Huntington Avenue. Major: health decision science; minors: biostatistics and medical informatics. Richard Gelber will chair the examination committee.

Cara Osborne, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will take her oral examination on Friday, January 7 at 1:30 p.m. in Kresge 606. Major: maternal and child health; minors: biostatistics and epidemiology. Kimberly Gavreau will chair the examination committee.

Chi-Chi Liao, doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will present her thesis, "Estimates of Trends in Dental and Mental Health Utilization and Expenditures for Children: Impact of State Children Health Insurance Programs," on Thursday, January 13 at 11:00 a.m. in Kresge 708.

Maria Shubina, doctoral student in the Department of Biostatistics, will present her thesis, "On Maximum Attainable Correlation for the Saramanov Family of Bivariate Distributions, Bayesian Analysis for Markers and Degradation, and Threshold Models with Markers Measured Before Observed Event Times," on Friday, January 14 at 3:00 p.m. in SPHII-426.

D. Keith McInnes Jr., doctoral student in the Department of Society, Human Development, and Health, will take his oral examination on Friday, January 14 at 2:30 p.m. in Room 224-E, 180 Longwood Avenue. Major: health and social behavior; minors: health policy and management, quantitative methods. Graham Colditz will chair the examination committee.

Elizabeth Oliveras, doctoral student in the Department of Population and International Health, will present her thesis, "Abortion in the Fertility Transition in Accra, Ghana," on Wednesday, January 26 at 10:00 a.m. in FXB-G11.
